The road to the water is part of the job. Winnie riding shotgun, the Phoenix 21XE powered by Mercury behind the F-450, and we’re headed to the lake for another day on the water.

There are a lot of miles that go into doing this all year. Driving from lake to lake, pulling into a new boat ramp, backing the boat in, and hopefully ending the day with a few good ones in the boat. Days like this are a pretty good reminder of why I love doing it.

Having equipment I can depend on makes a huge difference. Transwest keeps me moving down the road, and once we hit the water, I’ve got my Phoenix 21XE powered by a Mercury Pro XS ready to go.

Pretty hard to beat days like this, especially with Winnie along for the ride. 🤝🎣

A lot of miles between tournament stops, and @transwest_trucks has kept @madisonxhawkins and I rolling from lake to lake all season. Next up, Pickwick Championship to close out the season in November 👊🏼

Made the Day 3 cut on Lake Champlain! 👊

Put 16 lbs 11 oz on the scales today, giving me 36-03 for two days and putting me in 21st place heading into the final day. One more day to make it happen and see if we can move up a few spots!

Champlain was showing her teeth today. 💨🌊 Super windy conditions made for a grind, but I was able to put 19 lbs 8 oz on the scales and finish Day 1 sitting in 10th place.

Days like today make you appreciate having equipment you can trust. My @phoenixbassboats 21 XE handled the rough water like a champ, and the @mercurymarine Pro XS got me there and back when conditions were anything but easy.

Right where I want to be heading into Day 2. Time to keep my foot on the gas and go catch ’em tomorrow!

Annual deer hunt in California was a success! 🦌 Great hunting, time with family, and plenty of good memories made. Always a trip I look forward to every year.

Day 2 definitely threw us a curveball. A thick fog kept us at the dock until 10:00 AM, leaving me with only about 3½ hours of fishing before my 2:00 PM check-in. Once I put the trolling motor down, it felt like the day was over in the blink of an eye.

I was able to scrape together 10 pounds, finishing the event 60th out of 149 boats.

While it wasn’t the finish I was hoping for, I’m keeping my head up. Every tournament is another opportunity to learn, improve, and keep building. I’m thankful for everyone who follows along and supports me. Time to get back to work and get ready for the next one.

Day 1 on the St. Lawrence River for the @majorleaguefishingofficial Toyota Series is in the books. Just shy of 17 pounds has me sitting right in the middle of the pack. Looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow. I’ll be Boat #12 and due back at 2:00 PM.
